Shearwater Yacht Club boat - Wynsum, A Tanzer 7.5 is looking for club members to maintain the boat through the summer:

The main purpose of the club boat is to promote the ability for members to have a club boat to sail as well for the club to conduct Adult Keel Boat training through the season.  Our acquisition of this boat has taken into consideration our DND members to have a boat they can use through the season without having to fund a boat on their own.  in addition this club boat is ideal for members to try out the sport before making a big investment on their own for a boat.  All club fees and maintenance costs are covered by SYC.

We are currently seeking members that wish to take a senior position with the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of our boat.  If you are willing to commit time to assist there may be sailing discounts provided so you can spend more time on the water with this boat through the sailing season.

If you are interested please contact Fred Rehse, Director Sail Training, SYC

Tanzer 22 - Seaire

Brian DeGeer

I'm a member of the Military and am looking for two crew members with some racing experience.  You don't need to be an America's Cup racer but knowing some basic rules and your way around a boat will be helpful.  I own a Tanzer 22 and sail as part of a thriving one design fleet located on Grand Lake (near the airport).  This club has been racing on the lake for over 25 years!  We have 14 Tanzer 22s that sail in a seven race series that are conducted on weekends throughout the summer.  With only seven races (usually held over four or five weekends) there is a reasonable time commitment and racers still have the opportunity to enjoy other activities that summer has to offer.  We strive to have a great combination of solid competition and lots of fun.  There is a trophy for each race winner and a silver platter awarded to the season champion.  Equally important is the post race social that is conducted at one the member's lake side home!  If you would like to be involved in a fun and competitive one design racing series please contact Brian click here to send an email or phone 883-8808.

James Bresolin My name is James Bresolin.  I would like to crew on boats for races.

I received my Bronze V a number of years ago, but have very little experience on boats larger than the 420's I got qualified on.  However I do have knowledge of the water and rules of the road, being a MARS officer in the Navy albeit a very junior one.

I am 27 and really want to learn how to race these boats and one day get my own and sail it, at least around these parts, if not around the world.

Any information would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks
James

If you could CC bresolin@dal.ca as well as I can only check this forces account at work.  Thanks.

I am a reservist working at STAD for the summer, currently I am only available weekends; starting mid June I will be moving to 4 on 4 off shift work and am willing to volunteer during those times.  I am currently qualified in white sail 3 and intermediate cruising, although it has been almost a year since I have taken a boat out. I am looking for as much experience as possible on any type of sailboat; I have aspirations in purchasing my own boat in the future.

I don’t have a car so please give me a couple days notice. Please feel free to contact me at any of the email addresses below, or phone number (evenings only).
